There is very little opportunity for strategic interplay between the pitching team and batting team. A pitcher player card is matched up against a batter player card, and the entire at bat is resolved by a dice roll. The usual way APBA games (and most replay baseball games) are played is to resolve at bats with a single roll of the dice. We want you to be informed so that you can be assured your UBTG investment will deliver! While UBTG features realistic play results and has some features that are similar to these games, we want to be clear that UBTG really is a different game altogether. All these games fall under the “replay” genre category because they are very similar in structure and game play. The APBA Baseball game is one of the more well-known in a line of what has become known as “replay” baseball games (Strat, Replay, Dynasty League, Out-of-the-Park, Pursue the Pennant, and so on). Several of these games have computerized versions (e.g., Diamond Mind).
